Beautiful of Egyptian pyramid

There are 138 ancient pyramids discovered in Egypt and earliest known are found at Saqqara, northwest of Memphis. Most were built during the Old and Middle Kingdom periods as tombs for the Pharaohs and their consorts. The earliest, built during the third dynasty, is the Pyramid of Djoser. The worlds most famous pyramids are those nearby Cairo, at Giza, several of which are counted among the largest structures ever built. The Pyramid of Khufu at Giza is the largest Egyptian pyramid and the only one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World still in existence.

The sphinx is a mythical creature with a human head and a lion's body. The Great Sphinx of Giza stands on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Giza, Egypt and is a statue that imitates that creature. Standing 20.22 m high, 73.5 m long, and 6 m wide it is the largest monolith statue in the world and the oldest known monumental sculpture. It's commonly believed that the Sphinx was built 2558–2532 BC by ancient Egyptians of the Old Kingdom in the reign of the pharaoh Khafra.Citizens from many nations, including the UK, United States, Canada and all EU member nations can get tourist visas on arrival at an Egyptian airport, but before going, contact the Egyptian Embassy in your country of residence at least one month in advance of your trip to assure yourself whether or not you need to get your Egyptian visa in advance. Despite being, in terms of time, far removed from the modern world, The Pyramids and The Sphinx are only 25km from downtown Cairo and you could take a bus. But make sure that the bus is air-conditioned! If yo don't like busses and the taxi is too expencive for you, you can get Line 2 of the local metro to Giza station, and then, a mini bus will transport you the rest of the way to the Pyramids and the Sphinx. Get as much water as you can, because it will be hot.
